Coco is settling in very nicely. She has been with us for over a month now and she is fitting into a nice routine with us.
She is cuddly and playful and loves playing with her toys, greeting the postman, shouting at the dog next door and generally taking over the house.
She gets into her crate each night without a problem, and settles for the night. If I get up too early and open her crate, she turns over for an extra hour.
The first problem we had to overcome was getting her to wear a harness to go out. She is such a skinny minnie, that when she wriggles she can slip out of her collar. So we are now onto our third harness. Its the smallest we could find, she can't escape from it, so she is safe, but she can get her leg through the front.
When I try to get the harness on she jumps about, and squirms and wriggles, its like juggling jelly. Then she barks and barks until I open the front door and it's like going deaf, she goes so quiet.
Once out on the lead she is on a mission, she is charging ahead like a little steam train.
When she sees a dog in the distance, she is suddenly alert, focused on getting to meet this dog, no matter on its size. Then the nearer we get the louder she gets. Barking and barking and spinning on her lead. I am so lucky that we have lovely neighbours who understand her and allow her close to their dogs. In time with patience we can get over this problem, and the more we are out the more we see improvements. I think its here I should apologise to all our neighbours who like a lie in on a Sunday morning, yes it was probably Coco who woke you up. We are really very sorry and we are trying to stop this, but it's going to take time.
A walk along the coastal path at Cambois
After a pint in the local pub.
Chasing a rainbow? going the wrong way for the pot of gold Coco!
Beside the coast on a rainy day for a run on the field
Through the dene for a good sniff around
The off the shoulder style of harness ?
The red one isn't as good a fit as the purple harness.
Fast asleep and snoring away. We feel we have had Coco for much longer than a month, she is now just a big part of our family.
